I was down by the Lakewood Summit Compaq Church this morning and thought, "Oh, shit, I bet traffic is going to be ridiculous." Then I remembered it was Saturday. One.
I spent about three hours on the phone trying to find a kennel that would be open tomorrow morning (Sunday) so I could drop off my lil Augster.
I met the nice lady from the shelter so Auggles could get her last round of shots because today is Saturday and that's when she's out in Katy. You would think that all that would have set me straight. Nope.
Then, I took Miss Auggie out to the OKT to borrow my parents' printer and they were on their way out the door to go run errands. (I like to show up unannounced) My dad tells me they're going to renew the registration for my mom's car. "Can you do that on a Sunday?" "It's Saturday." "Oh, yeah. Well, still... can you do that on a Saturday?" Two.
We get back to house and I walk halfway towards the mailbox and turn around and go into the house. Mail doesn't come on Sunday. Three.
I ask Robin how her weekend was. She says, "It's just starting, silly." Oh, yeah. Four.
I check postsecret and am confused/annoyed that they didn't post anything this week. Five.
On my way to Target (second time today, I'm a ditz and forgot pretty much everything I went there to purchase), I drive by the TJ Maxx to see what time they close. 8pm. Lame! Why does everything close so damned early on Sunday? Six.
Thitry minutes later, I'm at Target and Robin texts me to ask what kind of vodka she should buy. I type, "You can't buy liquor on Sunday, you dork"... erase it and send a nicer reply after realizing I am the one that is the dork. Seven.
I literally look at the time as soon as I send the text and head to the front of the store because I think Target is about to close... because I think they close at 9pm. Because I think it's Sunday. Eight.
I drive over to Kohls to see what time they close. 9pm. LAME!
I go across the street to Wal-Mart, park, and realize for the ninth time today that it is SATURDAY and Kohls is still open... turn around and go back over there and buy some cute shoes!
I also nearly panicked this morning when I couldn't find my keys in my purse after valet parking my truck. Later, I spent entirely too much time walking in circles around my house looking for those same keys that turned out to be in my pocket the whole time. (I usually hang them from the deadbolt of the front door) I don't know what my damn problem is... I blame waiting about an hour after I woke up to have coffee.

There will be no year in review.
OK, so you have to start a new year by giving a month by month break down of the previous year. You have to. It's rule #14 in the Blogger's Handbook.
I intended to make such a post, but going through my notes and jogging my memory... everything seemed pretty damn depressing. So, there will be no month by month breakdown. Here's the highlights (in no particular order)
Finally took at vacation with Rhondy! We went to Vegas and had a blast despite me being deathly ill and her losing her ID.
My baby brother graduated from college.
I became general manager of a restaurant I had only worked at for a few months.
I got to be a groomslady in one of my best friend's wedding.... and I met Kyle.
Threw a kick ass surprise party for my parents' 50th birthday.
I played pool with Rhondy (she's helping me with this list)

OK, that's all we can think of. Feel free to add something we may have forgotten.

Pack Rat
So, I've been in this apartment since August and I just can't bring myself to fully unpack. The important stuff has been deboxed and found a place, but the stuff I don't need/use everyday is in a box, ready to go. I've found time and energy, I just don't see the point. I'm pretty sure I'm going to move when my lease is up and I just can't justify buying furniture that will most likely get left behind or cause me to have to rent a uhaul or bribe a friend with a truck- and I know how annoying that is, my old truck had a bumper sticker that read "Yes, this is my truck. No, I will not help you move."
I think it's also the difference between house and home. This is just housing to me, when I find a place I want to call home I will unpack and furnish the place.
But, I've got a friend coming up this Friday... and I'm worried that living in an apartment full of boxes is going to make me seem like a crazy person. I have enough "quirks" that make me seem like a crazy person, what's one more?

Does a Body Good
So, I popped into Kroger on the way home from work tonight and the expiration date on the "milk flavored water" (skim) that I bought is December 1.
Hoh. Lee. Shit!
I haven't even started shopping yet, and that's not a good thing. I always stress myself out about giving "good" gifts that it takes me months to decide on something. Except last year when I was flying 6 days a week and had no time... and this year is going to be kinda hard to shop for my brother because whatever I get him will have to be shipped because he's too important to come spend a weekend with his family. No, I'm not upset, why do you ask?
Speaking of family... I'm really starting to miss Houston. Probably because I just got off the phone with Jay Diddy and just got invited to a party I probably won't be able to attend by Jacey. I never thought I would want to move home so soon, I think it's been 4 years since I've lived in Katy/Houston...? I thought I'd want to go live more exotic places before throwing in the homesick towel. Although, technically one flight attendant year is equivalent to 7 indigenous years. So, there ya go. Wait. I'm thinking of dogs, aren't I? Regardless, it's gotta count for something. All the while I've been thinking about moving home, my parents are thinking about getting out of Dodge. WTF?
I still have a couple of months to decide where I'm going to go next, but now would be a good time start giving input. But, really... I'd love to go be an Astros groupie while I still have my looks... and at my age... the sooner the better. YaknowwhatImsayin?

Time, apparently, is on my side
For some reason, over the past few weeks I had it in my head that I was going to lose one precious hour of sleep, coffee, or blow drying. Who are we kidding- it's the sleep I was pissed off about.
Yes, I know the clever little reminder "Spring forward, fall back", but somehow got it in my head that "back" meant I was losing an hour. So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and realized it was the other way around.
In case you're wondering, I used the extra hour writing this and on the phone with Goo. Mostly on the phone with Goo, which is why this post is so short, hurried and not funny. Oh, well. Time well spent.
